Powerhouse is looking for video and tabletop games from independent developers to be part of ALT: GAMES.

Returning in 2026, ALT: GAMES is a Powerhouse initiative to celebrate games that brings together the Australian gaming industry and community. Powerhouse is looking for both video and tabletop games from independent developers to be part of the festival’s games showcase ALT: PLAY. We are looking to showcase games that highlight Australian stories, design and practice, and champions the significance of gaming across diverse audiences.

We welcome applications from both emerging and established developers. Games will be selected by an industry panel, and successful applicants will receive an honorarium to be part of ALT: PLAY.

Expression of Interest closes 11.59pm AEDT, Sunday 11 January 2026
Applicants notified February 2026
ALT: GAMES 17–19 April 2026
ALT: PLAY 18–19 April 2026

Commitment

Selected developers are required to attend and present their game in person at ALT: PLAY on Saturday 18 April – Sunday 19 April in Parramatta, Sydney.

Final schedules and times will be confirmed with successful applicants.
