Powerhouse Parramatta
Located on Dharug land. One of the world’s most significant new museum projects and the largest cultural development in Australia since the Sydney Opera House. Community, industry and collection will intersect to create a dynamic culturally engaged program that will redefine museums.
Accessibility
Enter Powerhouse via 1 Danyamada Place off Phillip Street (opens in new tab). All areas of the museum are accessible.

Museum Spaces
All exhibition and museum spaces are accessible by lifts, ramps, elevators and escalators.
The Mall and Es Devlin: The Turning include a lift to access the mezzanine level. Task Eternal includes a 190 metre length series of ramps at a gradient of 1:14 to provide universal access to the exhibition and the James Turrell installation.
Parking and drop off
No parking is available on site. There is a pick-up-drop-off zone on Phillip Street. Paid parking is available within walking distance of the museum.
Toilets, Parents’ Room and Adult Changing Place
All-gender and wheelchair-accessible toilets are located throughout the museum on the ground floor and levels 1, 2 and 3.
A parents’ room and an adult changing place are on the ground floor near concierge.
Baby change tables are located in accessible toilets on all levels.
Museum hosts can help access these facilities.
Wheelchair hire
The museum has 5 wheelchairs available for use during your visit – ask a visitor host at concierge.
Seating
Seating is available throughout the museum and exhibition spaces. Accessible seating is available in Western Sydney University Forum on level 1, Medich Foundation Cinema on level 3, and the Vitocco Family Kitchen on level 4.
Hearing Augmentation
A hearing augmentation system is available across all exhibition and program spaces. Download the Sennheiser MobileConnect app (opens in new tab) on your mobile (Android/iPhone) then connect to the Hearing Aug Wi-Fi. Mobile units can be borrowed from the concierge.
Auslan
Auslan Interpretation Services are offered for select programs and performances at Powerhouse. Click here for a list of Auslan-supported upcoming events and programs.
For enquiries for Auslan Interpretation of programs not listed, contact the Powerhouse Contact Centre (02) 9217 0111 or book@powerhouse.com.au. 3 weeks notice is recommended and dependent on availability.

Powerhouse Castle Hill

Located on Dharug land. A storehouse for the Powerhouse Collection supporting research and conservation, presenting exhibitions and programs.

Access
Entry to Powerhouse Castle Hill is via Windsor Road gate. Access within the precinct is fully accessible, via ramps and elevators.
Companion Card
The museum is an affiliate of the NSW Community Services Companion Card (opens in new tab) program. Support persons receive free entry to paid exhibitions and programs when accompanying a Companion Card holder. To book your complimentary companion ticket, reach out to our contact centre on (02) 9217 0111 between 10am–5pm, 7 days.

Quiet Times
Quieter times: 10am, 12–1pm (during the school term). Busiest times to visit: School holidays and between 2–4pm. A quiet room is available for visitors.

Castle Hill Map
Sydney Observatory
OPEN FOR PRE-BOOKED TOURS AND GENERAL ADMISSION
Located on Gadigal land, a national place of connection and scientific research. The site is undergoing heritage conservation works.
Accessibility
As a heritage site Sydney Observatory has some accessibility limitations.
Visitors requiring wheelchair access can experience Sydney Observatory gardens and the ground floor of the Astronomer's Residence. There is no wheelchair access to locations visited during Sydney Observatory Tours or Family Tours due to narrow and steep staircases in the heritage-listed buildings.
