Exhibition Project Coordinator

We seek an experienced Exhibition Project Coordinator to join our team as we embark on a once-in-a-lifetime renewal program and establish a new museum in Parramatta, in the heart of Western Sydney. In the role, you will collaborate closely with the Exhibitions Manager and the Head of Technical Production to develop and deliver exhibitions across Powerhouse Parramatta, Powerhouse Ultimo, Powerhouse Castle Hill, and the Sydney Observatory on schedule and within budget.

We are seeking an Operations & Governance Officer to provide high-level executive and administrative support to the Director, Office of the Chief Executive, and members of the Executive team in support of the operations and governance functions of the Museum, including the secretariat for the Trust and Finance, Audit & Risk Management Committee, ensuring all administrative, operational and governance matters are prioritised.

Research Scholars Program
Our Research Scholars program provides a supportive environment for researchers to undertake research related to the museum’s collection, education, conservation and museum practice. The program is targeted at established researchers such as university academics and independent scholars.

Powerhouse Tertiary Internships and Secondary Student Placement Programs give students a snapshot into the world of cultural institutions and an industry they might one day be part of.

Visitor Experience Volunteer
Volunteers play a significant role in enhancing the visitor experience at Powerhouse Ultimo, Sydney Observatory and Powerhouse Castle Hill. They actively promote visitor engagement by initiating conversations, narrating stories in the exhibitions, collaborating in guided tours and facilitating interactive activities.

Volunteers support staff in researching recently acquired objects in our collection. This role involves working with museum staff and volunteers on-site or virtually across a range of activities related to recently acquired objects.

Powerhouse Museum offers spectacular architectural spaces for hire at our Powerhouse Ultimo and Sydney Observatory sites.
We provide innovative environments for events ranging from large-scale product launches, conferences and corporate functions to cocktails and fine dining. Select from a range of venues including our exhibition areas, function spaces and theatres. Audiovisual hire packages are available for events held in the museum’s exhibition areas and meeting rooms.
