Powerhouse and Ace Hotel Sydney present a series of talks as part of Sydney Design Week 2023.

Amodern Talks at Ace is an afternoon of discussions exploring urban food production, materials science and the transformation of the Australian fashion industry.

Program

2–2.45pm Across the Table
Powerhouse Vitocco curator and artist Gillian Kayrooz leads a discussion on connections to land and food through cultural, agricultural, culinary and entrepreneurial practice.

3–3.45pm Material Matters
Andrew Simpson, founder and director of Sydney-based design house Vert leads a conversation exploring the entanglement of materials within cultures and politics.

4–4.45pm Circular Fashion Technologies
Director of the Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Fashion & Textiles, Dr Lisa Lake, hosts a discussion on emerging circular technologies and their impact on the Australian fashion industry.
