
WE'VE Workshops
WE’VE presents an introduction to Māori and Pacific weaving alongside skilled professionals in a series of drop-in workshops. Join OCEAN WE'VE and learn the basics of creating mats from pandanus plants, or take part in making miniature puhi-rere feather streamers as part of WAKA WE'VE. Both programs are designed to contribute to the opening celebrations of Powerhouse Parramatta.
Recommended age 12+ years. Under 16 must be accompanied by a participating Adult.

About OCEAN WE'VE
This project forms part of the OCEAN WE’VE Commission, a new Powerhouse and Blacktown Arts project bringing together Western Sydney’s Pacific communities through a large-scale collaborative weaving project. OCEAN WE'VE Weavers brings together master weavers from across the Pacific including Langafonua ‘a Fafine Tonga, Women’s Council of Tonga in Nuku’alofa, Ereamone Chamberlain, Sione Falemaka, Angela Paikea, Keren Ruki and Seve Faleupolu.
