Moments in Waiting

Moments in Waiting is a major new community project and film commission by Powerhouse, led by artist Khaled Sabsabi. The project focuses on the untold stories behind extraordinary objects held by Muslim families in Greater Sydney. Developed over three years in close collaboration with Muslim communities and individuals, Moments in Waiting uncovers the histories, memories and spiritual connections embedded within treasured family objects, each offering a unique perspective on faith, migration, family and belonging.

These stories have been captured as a series of short films that form a portrait of the Muslim diaspora in New South Wales. The complete suite of Moments in Waiting films will screen at the Powerhouse Parramatta Cinema.
