Powerhouse Materials: Paper
Powerhouse Materials: Paper is an exploration of paper, with objects selected from the Powerhouse Collection by guest curator and renowned Australian children’s author Andy Griffiths.
Andy Griffiths has been delighting children since the ’90s, when his Just! series became a bestseller. His Treehouse series, first published in 2011, won him even more fans.
In Powerhouse Materials: Paper, Andy shows his distinctive approach to the world, with objects ranging from anatomical models to a pair of papier-mâché ventriloquist dolls.
Alongside Andy’s selection, Powerhouse curators have brought together paper-related objects that include typewriters, specialist writing tools and intricate paper-cut objects from the Powerhouse Collection.
To accompany your visit, pick up a free, self-guided activity book, designed in collaboration with Andy. It’s filled with creative prompts and challenges for visitors to develop their own illustrations and stories inspired by the exhibition.
Powerhouse Materials: Paper is the latest instalment in a new series exploring the Powerhouse Collection with a guest curator and a chosen material.
