Revitalising Powerhouse Ultimo
A landmark project to revitalise one of Australia's most revered museums within Sydney's CBD. The NSW’s Government’s $250 million investment in a heritage renewal will reorient the museum’s main entrance and create a new public square and entry via The Goods Line to enable better connection with surrounding precincts and public transport.
Supporting Powerhouse Ultimo
University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is the Foundation University Partner of Powerhouse Ultimo. The University’s significant investment in the museum reinforces its commitment to developing the next generation of Australian creative leaders and amplifying NSW creative talent through partnerships with industry.

Stories
Founded following the enormous success of the Sydney International Exhibition of 1879–1880, Powerhouse Ultimo has continually evolved over the years — from the Garden Palace in the Botanic Gardens, to Agricultural Hall in the Domain, Technological Museum of Harris Street and the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences housed in the former Ultimo powerhouse.
