At 20, graffiti writer Sight faced 100+ felony charges and 34 years in prison for his art. Sight was able to reduce his sentence by fighting California wildfires but even after he was released his wages continued to be garnished for restitution. Niki Okuk, daughter of late PNG leader Sir Iambakey Okuk, follows Sight’s journey of challenging a society that values property over human life.

Despite the distance from the Pacific Islands, she and her community actively create opportunities to learn and share cultural traditions. This film asks us how we can help bridge the gap between the diaspora and cultural knowledge holders.
