In this 3-day workshop, high school learners in Year 7–9 (ages 12–15) will dive into the heart of biomedical engineering.
Medical objects from the Powerhouse Collection — including cardiac pacemakers and 3D bioprinters — plus cutting-edge prototypes from Tyree IHealthE will provide inspiration as learners explore how life-saving technologies have evolved and how engineers, designers and doctors work together to tackle heart-related health challenges.
Learners will also experiment with sensors and circuits to build their own heartrate monitor, use roleplay to co-design a prototype that responds to real medical needs and pitch their idea for the future of healthcare.
Generously supported by the Sir William Tyree Foundation.
