Task 4

Student Interest Project

Task

Inspired by the program, you will work with teachers and mentors to build a project of your choice or use the time to extend your Task 1, 2 or 3 projects.

Please document your process to share with your project at the 50°C Climate Summit on 11 April 2025.

Some examples of projects include:

  • Extend Task 1
Develop a body of work using the thermal camera and FLIR Thermal Studio.
  • Extend Task 2
Implement your school cooling solution (or part of it) connected to your microclimate investigation. Your solution could include nature-based solutions, reflective coatings, water solutions and/or shading. Document the process and findings.
  • Extend Task 3
Take your heat messaging into your community for feedback from your audience to improve it.
  • Create a piece of writing, or a collection as a class, that included your learning from this program. Examples could include a short piece of climate fiction, a poem or a children’s book.
  • Develop and implement an internal classroom cooling experiment. Document the process and share the findings.
  • Develop a school or community plan for heat resilience with a list of recommendations and gain expert input and feedback.
  • Create a future school/city/LGA representation using visual arts or AI.
  • A project of your choice that uses key content of messages from the program.
