Established in 1993, Future Fashion provides a glimpse into the exciting potential of the next generation of Australian designers emerging from tertiary fashion and textile courses. Learn about sustainability practices, enjoy hands-on workshops and VR experiences.

Featuring works from the final-year ranges of graduates from four Sydney-based institutions, the display highlights their role in fostering creativity, critical thinking and entrepreneurship in Australian fashion, a key component of our cultural and creative industries sector.

Exhibiting Designers

On 1 June, the opening of the exhibition Future Fashion at Powerhouse Castle Hill showcased exclusive artist talks, talks about sustainability practices, hands-on workshops and VR experiences.

Research and concept development is a key part of these designers’ creative practices. From work inspired by marine architecture and the dandy’s debonair aesthetics to pieces that include wearable water, beanbags and music to engage with the exciting field of sensory design, Future Fashion presents the depth of talent nurtured in Sydney’s tertiary fashion schools.
