Future Fashion takes a glimpse into the next generation of Australian design, showcasing the graduate collections of 4 standout designers emerging from tertiary fashion and textile courses.
In its 33rd year, the exhibition features final-year collections from 4 Sydney-based Institutions: Fashion Design Studio: TAFE NSW, Ultimo Campus, Torrens University Australia: Billy Blue College of Design, University of Technology Sydney, Whitehouse Institute of Design, unveiling the creativity and entrepreneurial skill of NSW's future fashion leaders.
Join us for the opening of Future Fashion on 20 June for workshops, designer talks, demonstrations and more.
‘Fashion is one of the world’s most compelling, competitive and complex industries where skill, creativity, technology and economics meet imagination, art, history, politics, culture and identity. The work of these 4 talented students embodies this dynamic melange with pieces inspired by Swedish folk dress, diffusion-limited aggregation, cowboys and Zaha Hadid’s architecture. Their materials engage with new ways of producing fashion and sensory experience through 3D printing and recycled and reimagined industrial materials.’
