ING Australia

Community and Wellbeing Partner – Powerhouse Parramatta

We are delighted to partner with Powerhouse Parramatta as their Community and Wellbeing Partner. ING has a strong commitment to community and sustainability, and with almost half of Sydney’s population living in Greater Western Sydney, the Powerhouse will provide a phenomenal public space for communities to come together. It will be a place where innovation thrives, a home of new discovery and where education will be fostered so we can create a more sustainable future for everyone.
Melanie Evans, CEO, ING Australia

ING Australia’s partnership with Powerhouse Parramatta builds on its commitment to people, planet and wellbeing by establishing the ING Pavilion and the ING Community Wellbeing Program.

The ING Community Wellbeing Program is an annual series of seasonal workshops for local audiences of all ages within the Powerhouse Parramatta precinct. Participants will have opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in areas beneficial to overall wellbeing, such as sustainable living, physical and mental health and financial literacy. Workshops will also foster connections to Country by exploring sustainability practices in Indigenous agriculture and highlight the importance of biodiversity and climate action.

I am very excited to see the establishment of the ING Pavilion at Powerhouse Parramatta which will become an important place of learning and provide an exceptional experience for the people of New South Wales. The ING Community Wellbeing Program will engage current and future generations with the importance of biodiversity, sustainability, enabling all of us to positively contribute.

ING Australia’s generous $4 million investment in the future of Powerhouse Parramatta will help establish the ING Pavilion on the rooftop of the Eastern Building. Accessible via lifts from the museum entrance and a rooftop bridge from the Western Building, this versatile space connects seamlessly to the rooftop garden with views across Parramatta and access to facilities for open air events.

ING’s investment will also support two major exhibitions at Powerhouse Parramatta which will engage audiences with innovative technology, sustainability and sustainable solutions to drive positive impact and change.

We are honoured to be entering into this innovative new partnership with ING Australia to deliver generational outcomes for our communities. Thank you to ING Australia CEO Melanie Evans, and all at ING Australia, we look forward to delivering dynamic and innovating programming with you at Powerhouse Parramatta
Lisa Havilah, Chief Executive, Powerhouse

As Community and Wellbeing Partner to Powerhouse Parramatta ING is supporting the development of exciting educational programs for the people of Western Sydney, which could prove life changing for families, communities – and the natural world. These programs represent opportunities to deliver innovative thinking about sustainability and community wellbeing aligned with financial wellness topics. ING’s own sustainability goals for its investments and operations, for example, reflect the organisation’s aim to 'put sustainability at the heart of everything we do, defining new ways of doing business where planet and people are just as important as economic growth'.
