The connection between art and positive health and wellbeing has long been established
Dr Nicole Peel

The use of creative practice and science has been a long-standing approach to mental health and wellbeing.

Join a panel from the MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development for an exploration of neuroscience and art therapy. Led by Powerhouse Artistic Associate and visual artist Agatha Gothe-Snape, this discussion will examine the importance of art in therapy.

Hear from Dr Nicole Peel, Dr Rachael Jacobs and Dr Genevieve Quek on community-led art projects and cognitive therapy with scientific research and evidence.

Senior Curator Katie Dyer will lead a guided tour through the Powerhouse exhibition, A Line A Web A World, which showcases drawings from the museum’s collection, using the exhibition as a practical example of how drawing is a universal tool for communication across disciplines.
