Consulate General of India, Sydney The Consulate General of India was established in Sydney in 1941 as the Trade Commission of India. Its role is to extend consular services and to augment relations between India and the states of New South Wales and South Australia. Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre was established by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Government of India to build and promote cultural relations between India and Australia. Its objective is to share India’s rich and vibrant culture and foster closer cultural bridges between India and Australia. From music and dance, to art and literature, the Centre offers a vibrant range of activities and events.
