Steam Revolution shows how steam has touched the lives of millions.

For more than 200 years, steam did almost everything: it pumped water, powered factories, and drove ships across oceans and ploughs through fields. These days steam turbines still provide 90 per cent of our electricity.

Learn how steam engines developed, what they did and how they changed the world in this exhibition featuring hands-on displays, old boilers, videos and 12 steam engines.

Please note on Tuesdays no steam operations take place.
