Ultimo

Powerhouse is home to one of Australia’s most comprehensive textile and garment collections, including a diverse range of historical and contemporary pieces.

The Textiles Centre at Powerhouse Ultimo was a space where visitors viewed intricate and extraordinary textiles from all over the world, including a large collection of lace. Works were accessible via drawers, allowing visitors to independently research their own areas of interest, and you could often meet makers and volunteers in the Textiles Centre happy to answer your questions.
