This 1-day workshop is designed for learners aged 9–12.
In this hands-on STEM workshop, learners aged 9–12 will explore the science, history and wonder of flight, directly engaging with aircraft, flying machines and other objects from the Powerhouse Collection.
Participants will investigate wing shapes, aerofoils, propulsion systems and control surfaces through historical and contemporary aircraft alongside inspiring collection objects, discovering how both engineering and the natural world have shaped our understanding of flight.
Working collaboratively, learners will design, prototype, test and refine their own whimsical and experimental flying machine.
