Powerhouse Academy: Curatorial Kids
Learn about the processes involved in bringing an exhibition to life in this full-day workshop for curious and creative students.
Students will go behind the scenes of the Powerhouse Collection with an exclusive tour to uncover the stories of some of the 500,000 objects. Participants are invited to bring their own special object from home, which will be used to create museum-style labels for each object. Then, students will design a collaborative exhibition to be enjoyed by their families at the end of the day.
Note: special objects should be something with a story or a meaning to the participant, but not an object that is precious, fragile or has high monetary value. Example objects might include a toy, a piece of clothing, a handmade item, a book or a keepsake. Special objects will be returned to participants at the end of the day.
