Gourmet Herbs

Jane Vassallo from Gourmet Herbs is Australia’s first commercial micro herb grower. Her female-led team produce more than 20 varieties of micro herbs, edible flowers and zucchini blossoms that are sold through Sydney Markets and direct to leading Australian restaurants. Join Jane on a special behind-the-scenes farm tour, followed by morning tea. Come prepared with sun protection, warm clothing and comfortable shoes.

About Gourmet Herbs

Jane Vassallo founded Gourmet Herbs in 2003. A fourth-generation farmer, Vassallo inherited her family's love for life on the farm. In the early 1990s, she moved from the lowlands of the Hawkesbury to establish a new farm on higher ground, paving the way for what later became Gourmet Herbs. Originally focused on growing fancy lettuces, Vassallo soon pivoted to meet a niche demand from contemporary Sydney restauranteurs for microherbs and edible flowers.
