Powerhouse Late: Hopetoun
The Hopetoun Hotel, known as the Hoey, was the launching pad for some of Australia’s finest musical exports and local legends.
Join us for a night of live music and history as we celebrate how the Hoey nurtured musicians and incubated business owners, promoter and label heads who have led their fields globally.
Curated by Powerhouse Research Fellows and UTS academics Dr Gregory Ferris and Dr Liz Giuffre, this Powerhouse Late is an unauthorised biography and love letter to the iconic Sydney live music venue and the ecosystem it was part of. The project includes never-before seen or heard content about the richness of the music scene in Sydney during the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.
